To Whom It May Concern,

We would like to take this opportunity to notify people like you about a growing environmental group called STEPSTEP stands for Students Teaching Environmental Protection.  We are interested in recruiting new members ranging in the ages of middle school through high school and that are among a verity of different schools.  STEP has participated in the Wissahickon Valley Water Community Creek Clean Up and other community projects like: Lower Gwynedd Township Parks and Recreation walking trail clean up, Saint Francis Ecological Society of the removal of invasive species and planting at MMR and advertising hanger recycling at our local dry cleaners. We also inform our nearby neighborhoods about composting and recycling.

As an environmental protection group we are including information attached about how to compost, new events about a recycling program and future projects.

There will be a new recycling program that the Lower Gwynedd Township maybe implementing.  Instead of the small recycling bin, we may get the same size bin as our trash for recycling!  The incentive is to recycle more and get rewards so that you can get discounts at Genuardi’s, Starbucks, Giant and many other stores. More information go to www.recyclebank.com

STEP has many future projects: with Elmwood Zoo we will be labeling and mapping out trees at the zoo, with Lower Gwynedd Parks and Recreation we will be building bird houses, painting horse trails and with the Saint Francis Ecological Society we will be removing invasive plants and planting new plants.

If you are interested in joining STEP please call 215-699-4762 or e-mail me at cbromberg@comcast.net. Thank you.

Sincerely,

STEP
