neighborhood dinner

Dear neighbors,
I just wanted to report that our annual progressive dinner was  a big success last Saturday night! We had about 50 people attend - it was a great time to connect with old and new friends. Many thanks to our hosts, the Daeublers and the Smyths - they each hosted a large crowd very graciously. And I would like to add my personal thanks to the committee - Fran, Penny, and Heather. They did a great job organizing all the food and people! Many thanks for taking over the dinner! I think the new format of just appetizers and dessert was enjoyed by all. Hope to see more of you there next year.

Happy Spring,

neighborhood news

Dear neighbors,
I'm passing on this invitation to meet a school board candidate right here in our own neighborhood. Burunda is currently on the board so she can answer questions about current issues in addition to plans for the future. Hope you can take advantage of this opportunity! Thanks for sharing this information, Bridget.
Thanks,

Hello Neighbors!

I will be hosting a no obligation fundraiser in Gwynedd Knoll, to re-elect Burunda Prince-Jones for the Wissahickon School Board. Burunda is a great leader with an amazing vision. Many of us want Burunda re-elected because a great education is good for everyone! Burunda Prince-Jones will be on both the democratic and republican ballots on Tuesday, May 17th during the primary election. You are invited to meet Burunda, ask questions, make suggestions or just observe and enjoy good company. The event will take place at my home on Sunday, April 3rd from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. My address is: 1621 Claudia Way, North Wales.  We would love to see you on Sunday, April 3rd!

Thank you and Best Regards,
Bridget Jones

Hi Gwen,

We are working with PennDOT to move a sewer force main on Meeting House Road.    Even though it is a PennDOT project, the Township must pay 50% of the cost to move this 2-inch force main.  PennDOT's contractor came up with an estimate of $80,000.  The LGT Municipal Authority's engineer received estimates for about half that amount.  Obviously it is in our interest and PennDOT's to have this work done under a Township Municipal Authority contract.  That will delay the project a bit but it will result in a substantial saving.  I'm afraid I can't do anything about the utility problem.  PECO, Comcast and Verizon are on their own schedule due to manpower.  If I can provide additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Kate and Larry,

I hope all is well with both of you. Below was PennDOT'S response that I received through Senator Greenleaf's office concerning the status of construction in our area. It seems that a force main (indicated that this was a township responsibility) on Evans and utility poles on 202 could affect completion dates. Gwynedd Knoll has been notified of this concern. We would be appreciative of your efforts, as well as Senator Greenleaf, to ensure that these obstacles are addressed quickly so this project can be completed in a timely fashion.

We look forward to your reply.

Best wishes,

Gwen Douse

Patty,

Hopefully this will help.  A little tough to read but I darkened the general work areas for each project.  SR 2016-OFF is the Meetinghouse Road realignment as well as other intersection improvements along Evans Road.  This is scheduled to be complete toward the end of summer.  Currently have an issue with an unforeseen Township force main. We need the Twp. to relocate in a timely manner or the completion date could be affected.  The other project is SR 202-65N.  This is primarily the widening of 202 from south of Hancock up past Welsh Road.  There is other work on Welsh and north on 202 up to 309 as well.  This project is heavily dependent on utility relocation.  The contractor has been doing his best to work around the utilities but they are affecting the project.  The amount of work the utilities complete over the next month is critical and may have an impact on the completion of the project.  Right now it is scheduled for a mid-2012 completion.  If you need anything else please let me know.

neighborhood news

Dear neighbors,
I've copied a note below from a neighbor, Gwen Douse, with information on 202 work. She included a map of where the work is as an attachment - hope you are able to read it as a PDF file. Thank you, Gwen, for your detective work in getting this information!

I also have a neighbor who has requested referrals for a power washer company for some spring cleaning. I don't think we have had this request before. Please send me any recommendations you might have.

Please check out this Craig's list posting for some furniture for sale from Rhona Fromm, another neighbor.

Your ad, titled 'King Size Metal Headboard & Footboard' has been posted as follows:

I also have 3 gorgeous bar (counter not bar height) stools with cushions - wrought iron, very sturdy. Designer quality. $300 for the set or best offer. Just looking to purge various pieces of furniture. They are also listed on craigslist

Your ad, titled 'Wrought iron barstools (set of 3)' has been posted as follows:

And last but not least, about 50 neighbors will be attending the progressive dinner this next weekend! Hope to see you there. (:
