Copied below is a note from a neighbor, Betty Kuhnert, inviting all of us to a benefit event. The group putting on the event is called Horseways and is described in the first paragraph below. The Watershed trails and parks in our area are a treasure – thought you might like to know about groups working to maintain them. And perhaps some of you would like to attend the afternoon Dance and Auction.

HORSEWAYS is a non-profit organization with a goal to conserve open space and maintain trails in Lower Gwynedd, Whitpain, and Whitemarsh townships. Initially, Horseways worked with real estate developers and property owners to advocate keeping part of their properties open as easements for equestrian trails. Realizing our larger role in the community, we now not only secure areas for equestrians to ride, but help maintain quality of life for all residents. We are involved with environmental and land conservation issues; raising awareness of the importance of open space and serving as the voice for the area's equestrian community.
Horseways cordially invites you to An Afternoon of Dance and Silent Auction for the benefit of the lovely trails and open fields of the Wissahickon Watershed, the Natural Lands Trust and township parks.
The benefit will be held at the Blue Bell Country Club 2-5 PM, Sunday, September 16th, 2007.
The event will include:
Ballroom and Argentine Tango Dance Demonstrations by professionals Silent Auction Dancing Hot and Cold Hors d'oeuvres and beverages Cash Bar Music by Steve Culver, DJ
Donations are tax deductible and should be made out to "Horseways":
Single ticket - $50
Couple's ticket -$90
Single Sponsorship - $80
Couple's Sponsorship - $120
Special gift donations may be made in any amount.
