neighborhood news - traffic alert

Dear neighbors,
See the note below about road closures and slow downs coming this week. Thank you to Gwen for forwarding this!

Thank you to all who have responded to my note about seeing a fox in the 'hood...I was surprised how many people have seen one or more! It sounds like we have a family of foxes around - most are healthy looking but one is not. There were several suggestions for moving them. I will put them together and forward to Gwen and family...and update you for your information...another day when it is not so late. (:

Have a great week!

Subject: Stump Road Detour, Weekday Lane Closures on Route 202, Route 309 for Parkway Construction in Bucks and Montgomery Counties

The installation of new traffic signal components will result in periodic lane closures at signalized intersections along Route 202 and a section of Route 309 on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signal work will take place at the following locations:

•Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between the Five Points intersection in Montgomeryville and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Lower Gwynedd Township, and
•Route 202 (Doylestown Road/Butler Avenue) between the Five Points intersection in Montgomeryville and Route 611 in New Britain and Doylestown townships.

Roadwork related to the construction of the $200 million Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery County will result in the closure of Stump Road in New Britain Township and periodic lane restrictions along Route 202 and Route 309 next week, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.

PennDOT is building the new 8.4-mile long Parkway to enhance travel and ease congestion between Montgomeryville and Doylestown. The Parkway is scheduled to open this fall.

Stump Road will be closed to through traffic between County Line Road and Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) for three days for reconstruction. The work is part of the ongoing $13.5 million project to widen County Line Road between Stump Road and Route 202 (Doylestown Road/Butler Avenue) to provide increased capacity for motorists heading to and from the Parkway.

The Stump Road detour will be in place from 7 a.m. Monday (May 14) through Wednesday afternoon (May 16), weather permitting. Through traffic will be diverted over County Line Road, Upper State Road and Route 152 (Limekiln Pike).

Drivers in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships may face slowdowns on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) and on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and North Wales Road on Monday through Friday (May 14-18) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ongoing road widening.

Intermittent lane closures and brief stoppages also may occur Monday through Friday (May 14-18) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Pike) in New Britain and Warrington townships and on County Line Road between Upper State Road and Stump Road in New Britain, Warrington and Montgomery townships for road construction.

Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.

Visit www.us202-700.com for more information on the Route 202 Parkway.

PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to www.511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out.

neighborhood fox

See the note below about a fox seen in the neighborhood...anyone have advice about how to have it removed to a safer place? He is apparently thin and sickly looking. Let me know if you have seen him.
Thanks,

Carol,
My son, Jason, sent a message to you a few weeks ago about a fox that has been wandering through our neighborhood. He appears to be young and looking for food. We are asking if anyone knows if there is help we can get in relocating the fox to an environment that is safe. He continues to roam the neighborhood. (The police were not able to help). Please let our neighbors know.
Thank you,
Gwen Douse
