neighborhood news

Dear neighbors,
I have several items for you - first an important reminder that there is a meeting Tuesday, May 25, at 7:30 pm at the Township building about the Rt 202 project and its effect on our neighborhood. Please plan to attend and get updated on the plans. Drive out the Hancock Rd entrance if you haven't lately - a lot of trees have been removed all along the side of the road and utilities are being moved around the north entryway into Hancock. The township would like our input - please come to the meeting! Several people have expressed concern about the potential number of strangers cutting through our neighborhood due to the construction, especially with the news of 2 robberies. I have requested that the police attend the meeting to address those concerns - hopefully someone will come.

Secondly , I hope you will remember to mail in your contribution to the entryway maintenance fund for this year. The suggested amount of $75 covers planting and maintenance for the whole year - 3 plantings. The entryway at Hancock will be put on hold now until the construction is done but money will be needed for new signs and plantings when it is complete.( Hopefully Penndot or the township will pay for some new walls! ) Any contributions are of course accepted.

Lastly, please see the notes below for an offer from a college student to do gardening work at your home (she is a Wissahickon grad - very nice!) and an announcement about the Civil War reenactment taking place at Pennypacker Mills, where Linda Callegari works. Any families with 8th graders should go - that is the topic of Social Studies right now!

Thank you,
