neighborhood news

Dear Neighbors,
Please see the note below from Gwen regarding the landscaping or lack of it, along our 202 entrance.
I also have recieved some requests for a recommendation on carpet repair and a pool service...I don't think we have had either before! Would you please send me any recommendations you have and I will get them sent to the requestors.

Hope you all enjoyed the garage sale day...seemed like we had a lot of customers. Great way to meet some neighbors too!

Dear neighbors,
Six months have past and there continues to be a lack of progress with landscaping along 202 adjacent to Gwynedd Knoll, north and south of Hancock. It is so sad to see that sterile brick wall, where once stood beautiful trees and greenery. We have a right to protect the aesthetics of our neighborhood and our township, which once prided itself on its greenness and natural beauty. Below is the most recent letter I sent to the Board of Supervisors, Kate Harper, and Larry Comunale, as well as their email addresses. It would be GREATLY beneficial if ALL our neighbors can help in this effort by writing to these public officials.
Thank you,
Gwen Douse

Dear Kate, Board of Supervisors, and Larry,
When in the spring can we hope to see the added greenery along the sound wall adjacent to Gwynedd Knoll on the north and south side of Hancock? We know that time had run out late last fall, and it was too late to have any plantings.  At the meeting that was held with the neighborhood in the fall, we spoke with PENN DOT about implementing the planned landscaping. We also appreciated Larry's offer to contact Rhoads' Garden center and consider use of the tree bank to supplement any trees; what is the status of these discussions?

We hope that PENN DOT and the township can work together quickly this spring so that Lower Gwynedd, along this stretch of 202, can be restored to the greenery that we have all appreciated and valued for so many years.  In addition ivy along the length of the sound wall would help to add greenery. Before the heat of summer, we are hoping to see some improvements.
We appreciate your prompt attention to this concern and will share your update with our neighbors.
Thank you again very much for your care and help in getting this landscaping issue addressed soon! We look forward to your reply.
Best wishes,
Gwen Douse
