We have a lost dog. We found her wandering our street. She is very calm but really wants to go home. If anyone knows the owner, please have them contact me (Susan) or my husband, Sam at 215-619-2755 or this email address. This little thing is clearly someone's beloved pet. Thanks for your help.

neighborhood news and events

Dear neighbors,

Hope I haven’t been overloading your mailboxes lately…news always picks up when school starts! I have two things copied below. The first is from a neighbor on Stonington who has started an Organizing business – thought you might find it useful. I’m sure she is wonderful to work with. (:

Secondly, I’ve put in information on a cool fire truck parade in North Wales this Saturday! The company there has restored an antique fire truck named Bertha and this is a parade to celebrate. There will be lots of fire equipment and antique cars from all around the area. There will also be food and beverages. This is the fire company that serves our neighborhood so head on over to see them!

Thanks,

Carol Pfister

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

My name is Heather Piccone and I have recently started a new business as a Professional Residential Organizer.  For those of you who are not familiar with professional organizers, our job is to help people live better and more organized lives.  After years of assisting friends and family with their clutter issues, I decided it was time to make a career doing the very thing I love-organizing!

There are many reasons to get organized.  When you de-clutter your home, you can improve your quality of life because clutter equals stress!  Professional Organizers can create a new and useful space which leads to finding things faster when you need them. I can show you ways to get through the paper deluge, provide you with time management tools and develop a system to help you stay organized.

With expertise, compassion, creativity and a good sense of humor, I can assist you with all of your residential organizing needs.  Services include, but are not limited to, storage spaces, basements, kitchens, closets, pantries, attics, garages and much more.  So if you have been putting off an organizing project, procrastinate no more.  Now is the time to get it done and “Forever Organized!”

I sincerely appreciate the time you have taken to read my message.  Mention this email and get your first hour of organizing free!

Best Regards,

Heather Piccone

neighborhood child care

Dear neighbors,

I have received a request for names of people who would be interested in watching an elementary school child after school for an hour or two. This could be a teenager or adult. I’m sure there are other families in the ‘hood who are in need also. Please write to me if you have someone to recommend. It would start at 3:30 in the afternoon on school days. I will be happy to pass the information on.

Thank you,

Carol Pfister

neighborhood news again!

Dear neighbors,

Copied below is a note from a neighbor, Betty Kuhnert, inviting all of us to a benefit event. The group putting on the event is called Horseways and is described in the first paragraph below. The Watershed trails and parks in our area are a treasure – thought you might like to know about groups working to maintain them. And perhaps some of you would like to attend the afternoon Dance and Auction.

Thanks,

Carol Pfister

HORSEWAYS is a non-profit organization with a goal to conserve open space and maintain trails in Lower Gwynedd, Whitpain, and Whitemarsh townships.  Initially, Horseways worked with real estate developers and property owners to advocate keeping part of their properties open as easements for equestrian trails. Realizing our larger role in the community, we now not only secure areas for equestrians to ride, but help maintain quality of life for all residents.  We are involved with environmental and land conservation issues; raising awareness of the importance of open space and serving as the voice for the area's equestrian community.

Horseways  cordially invites you to An Afternoon of Dance and Silent Auction for the benefit of the lovely trails and open fields of the Wissahickon Watershed, the Natural Lands Trust and township parks.

The benefit will be held at the Blue Bell Country Club 2-5 PM, Sunday, September 16th, 2007.

The event will include:

Ballroom and Argentine Tango Dance Demonstrations by professionals Silent Auction Dancing Hot and Cold Hors d'oeuvres and beverages Cash Bar Music by Steve Culver, DJ

Donations are tax deductible and should be made out to "Horseways":

Single ticket - $50

Couple's ticket -$90

Single Sponsorship - $80

Couple's Sponsorship - $120

Special gift donations may be made in any amount.

To order tickets, send checks prior to Sept. 6th to; Horseways P.O. Box 545 Gwynedd Valley, PA 19437 After Sept. 6th or for more information, please contact Linda at 267-210-6266

neighborhood news

Dear neighbors,

See the note copied below to help a neighbor locate a painter. Please respond directly to the email listed.  Hope everyone has a smooth start to the school year…once again the summer has gone by so quickly!

We are looking for exterior painters. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

We have been making requests for donations to re-landscape our entryways at Meetinghouse and Hancock all summer. We have a plan with the Sabia landscaping company that looks great! It will cost about $3000 since trees and bushes need to be removed. New permanent plantings will be put in and seasonal areas will be included. Work needs to begin soon to catch the fall planting season and rains. Please consider donating to the cause with at least $25 – more if you can.

Please make out your checks to Gwynedd Knoll Garden Club.
Mail them to:
Gwynedd Knoll Garden Club

Gwynedd, PA. 19436

Thank you,

Carol Pfister

Fwd: neighborhood news traffic

Another comment regarding the cut-through traffic situation ...

It all comes back to the only really sensible thing to do is close off Hancock and Rose Lanes so that we are not a cut through, that still leaves at least 3 ways in and out of our development.  Unfortunately the Township doesn't feel our issue is important enough to them.
